Short Bio

Born in Switzerland in 1950, Pius Baschera studied at ETH Zurich, where he graduated with a Masters Degree in Engineering and Management. He earned afterwards a Ph.D. in technical sciences. Following his academic education he joined Hilti Corporation (Liechtenstein) in 1979. He held several management positions until he became the CEO of Hilti in 1993 until 2006. 2007 he was promoted to the position Chairman of the Hilti Group. He is a Member of the Board of Directors of Roche Holdings, Schindler Holdings, Vorwerk & Co. KG and Ardex GmbH. He is the Chairman of Venture Incubator a seed money venture fund in Switzerland. He has been a professor for Entrepreneurship at ETH Zurich since 2007. His research fields are Entrepreneurial Management and Leadership.
